Liability and Comprehensive Insurance Protection
The renter bears the costs of any damage that occurs during the rental period while using the vehicle in accordance with the contract up to € 1,000 per case of damage.

If the damage is caused by intent or gross negligence, especially if the renter was unable to drive due to the consumption of drugs or alcohol, the liability limitation does not apply. The same applies to any damage caused by not observing traffic sign 265 (maximum vehicle height on a road). Despite the agreed limitation of liability, the renter is moreover fully liable for any damage caused by failure to observe the vehicle dimensions (vehicle height and width), by improper loading and unloading and by the load or by driving backwards without being directed.

The renter is liable for any damages claimed by a third party against him/her or against McRent that the renter has caused to a third party during the use of the object of rental. The renter is liable for all fees, levies, fines, and punishments that are imposed on the lessor in connection with the use of the vehicle unless they are caused by fault of the lessor.

If the provision of a bigger vehicle causes higher ancillary costs, such as ferry charges and tolls or operating costs, such costs are to be borne by the renter.
