Fuel Purchase Option Touring Cars rentals commence with a full tank of diesel. A refueling charge of EUR 26 + EUR 2 per litre will be applied to a rental if a vehicle is returned with less than a full tank of diesel. Client may choose the Fuel Purchase Option. Full Purchase Option is available at the time of rental and allows client to return vehicle without refueling diesel tank.

Depot Hours:
Pick up is available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Any pick up / drop off between 18:00hrs and 08:00hrs will incur an additional fee of EUR 149

Helsinki, Stockholm and Olso depots are open all year round.
Rovaniemi is open from 01 May to 30 October

If you drop off later than you specified return time, you are subject to a fee of EUR 50 for each hour that you are late.
The Client has to give a minimum 24-hour notice of being late or the surcharge will be issued. However, it is essential to confirm any changes in the scheduled service times with Touring Cars. In addition to above mentioned fee, Touring Cars may charge monetary losses from the client, if the client returns the vehicle later then scheduled and if this delays the next rental of the rental vehicle.

Winter Rentals:
Rentals are available throughout the winter period.
Water system: Client will be responsible to make sure that rental vehicle is heated properly at all times. Client takes full responsibility for water system damages. Additional winter conditions are given at rental.

Winter Tyres are mandatory in Scandinavia between 01 December and 28 February.
During this period winter tyres are included at no additional cost. If you wish to have winter tyres fitted outside of these dates, an additional charge of EUR 60 per rental and EUR 5 per day applies.

Post rental check for Bergen and Trondheim
Roof will be checked at post rental check after vehicle has been driven back to Oslo. We authorize EUR 2,400 for all post rental check up cases.

Damage Insurance:
The insurance coverage is divided into two different parts in Scandinavia; a compulsory and collision insurance.
The compulsory insurance covers all the damages or accidents to the third party caused by client.
The second one and more important insurance is the collision insurance which covers damages to clients own rental vehicle caused by an accident.

Collision insurance covers damages to the vehicle due to an accident, fire or theft. The insurance is NOT valid if the vehicle is being used under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or if damage is caused due to reckless behavior. The collision insurance does not cover any interior damages which are not caused by a traffic accident.

All Touring Cars rentals include a TCBasic insurance which has a EUR 2,400 deductible. In a case of an accident caused to the rental vehicle, there is a deductible to be paid by the rentee. Moreover, rentee is liable to cover all monetary damages caused by him or her for up to EUR 2,400 per damage, per accident, per lost items or per punitive sanctions (please see the returning policy). The collision insurance covers the part of the monetary loss, which exceeds EUR 2,400 per damage. Also, please notice that deductible is per monetary loss and not per rental period. Moreover, it does not cover interior damages which are not caused by traffic accident.

Touring Cars offers three insurance packages for client to choose from to reduce the amount of deductible. TCPlus insurance will reduce the deductible to EUR 1,200 per damage for a payment of only EUR 12 per rental day. TCPremium costs EUR 19 per rental day and it will reduce the deductible to EUR 600 per damage. The minimum reduction period d is 7 rental days or equivalent monetary payment. All additional drivers need to be named for the insurance for it to be valid. If a non-designated driver drives the rental vehicle TCBasic insurance terms and conditions apply with a EUR 2,400 Euro deductible per damage. All other rental and insurance conditions remain the same.

TC Total Insurance (min 10 days charge) - Reduces your damage excess from EUR 2400 to EUR 0 per incident (in case of more then one claim - following claims EUR 600) for a payment of EUR 49 per day.

If the rental vehicle is being driven to the Baltic Countries (Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania) or Russia an additional insurance, “green card”, is required. TCPlus and TCPremium insurance packages can still be purchased but the deductible for the theft coverage will be 20 per cent of the value of the vehicle. Minimum deductible is in all cases EUR 600.

Client will be given details of the current defects on the damage form. Client, as a rentee, is responsible to discover the damages prior of signing the document. Client is liable for all new damages found on the vehicle upon the end of clients rental period. All new damages, which were not marked on the agreement upon pick- up, will be charged from client. This notice is given for clients’ protection. If an unauthorized driver causes an accident or damages the vehicle, TC insurance and its rules will be voided.

Security Deposit:
Deposit, amount will be unstated, is required upon departure to ensure that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was upon pick-up.

Deposit is made with a credit card imprint, which will be taken at pick-up. We will authorize one full deductible from client's card at pick-up, so client's credit limit should be sufficient to cover the deductible and other purchases that they plan to do during their holiday. Authorization will be cancelled if no new damages will be discovered at drop-off. Credit card has to be valid minimum of 6 months after drop off.

Accepted credit cards are American Express, Diners Card, Visa and Mastercard - NO Cash is accepted !

Driver Requirements:
Minimum age is 18 years, and must have held a full driver's license for driving passenger cars for at least one year. The main driver must also present an acceptable credit card (not debit card).

Additional Drivers:
Minimum age is 18 years, and must have held a full driver's license for driving passenger cars for at least one year.
Additional Drivers must be present at the time of pick up, and must present a credit card (in their own name).

Q. Are your rental stations open the whole year round
Our stations in Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Stockholm and Oslo are open all year round.
Reykjavik rental station is open June 1st - September 30th.

Q. Do you have some special agreements for the winter rentals
Yes, we do. The use of motorhome in winter time takes a little bit more effort than in summer time, and therefore we have created Winter rules which we go carefully through with the customer before starting the tour. The customer will also have a copy of the rules to have with and check that everything is correct during the trip.

Q. During which period do you include winter tires on your rentals
The winter tires are mandatory in Scandinavia during 01.12 - 28.2 and during this period all our rental vehicles have winter tires.
The customer can have winter tires also beside this period but then we charge €60 to change the tires plus €5 /each rental day for the use of the tires.

Q. I'm a little bit conserned to be cold if I rent a motorhome during the winter time. Can you assure that the motorhome stays warm also when the temperature goes below zero
Our vehicles are specially planned for Nordic conditions and therefore there is an extra heating possiblity as a standard equipment. Consequently, the motorhome is suitable also for the cold winter weather and you will stay warm during your winter holiday.

Q. Is it possible to pick up a motorhome in Helsinki to visit Rovaniemi and go back to Helsinki in winter? Are there any campgrounds which are open between these two places during winter
The roads in Scandinavia are maintained during the winter and usually drivable. We suggest you reserve a bit more time to travel during winter than summer. Read more about during which time our vehicles have winter tires above. There are caravan areas near the ski resorts where you can have electricity and water. Most of the campgrounds though are open only during summer season.

Q. Do you have any winterized motorhomes which would allow to use the water system (shower etc.) in winter ? And where can I take water and charge electricity
There are restictions when using the water systerm during the cold winter months. In vehicles where the water system is heated it is the clients responsibility to take care of the proper heating of the vehicle at all times if water is held in the system. You can have water and electricity either at the caravan areas at ski resorts or at gas stations.

Q. Does the motorhome have electricity or gas heating or both ? Which kind of heating will be used when the motorhome is standing and which kind when it is on the move
Our vehicles have both electricity and gas heating. You can use electricity heating when you are connected to electricity (for example at a camping site).
Gas heating is recommended to be used only when being stationary.

Driver Requirements:
A valid driver's license is required for all rentals. Drivers must have held a driver’s license for driving passenger cars for at least one year.
- Primary driver will be added to the Rental Agreement by Touring Cars sales office. The office will add the name, which was given upon reservation, to the Rental Agreement. This individual must hold a valid driver’s license, be over 18 years of age, present an acceptable credit card (debit cards not accepted), have held the driver’s license for driving passenger cars for at least one year.
- Individuals not automatically covered on the Rental Agreement, as Authorised Operators, need to be approved by Touring Cars staff before adding them on the agreement.
- Renter and each additional authorised driver must be present to sign Rental Agreement, present an acceptable credit card (debit cards not accepted), show valid driver’s license, and must be a minimum of 18 years of age, he or she must have also held the driver’s license for driving passenger cars for at least one year. Additional authorized driver have to present their own credit card for security deposit at rental.

Charges apply for additional drivers:
- 1st additional driver €7 per day (maximum €49)
- 2nd additional driver €5 per day (maximum €35)
- 3rd additional driver free
- 4th additional driver free

Pick Up and Drop Off:
If you have requested an airport transfer for pick-up, you will be collected from the arrival hall and taken to the depot for pick up - vehicle hand over does not take place at the Airport. Vehicle return also takes place at the rental station. If you have booked an airport transfer for drop-off, you will be driven to the airport after the rental vehicle has been cleared.
Airport transfers are confirmed 30-60 minutes after arrival time and drop-off time is confirmed minimum 3 hours before departure time.
- If you order a hotel transfer for pick-up, we will drive them to our rental station, where pick-up procedures will be performed by our staff. Similarly, if they book a hotel transfer for drop-off, they have to bring the vehicle back to our rental station first. After their rental vehicle has been cleared, they will receive a transfer to their hotel.
- We do not have offices in Kuopio, Ivalo, Bergen or in Trondheim. A staff member will meet you at the airport in these locations to collect the rental vehicle.

Breakdown:
You are responsible for checking engine oil, fluids, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at rental. You may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. In the event the vehicle is in breakdown repair for 24 hours or more, through no fault of your own, our responsibility to you is limited to refund of daily rate or portion thereof. You are required to travel with the rental vehicle to the closest repair location stated by Touring Care Roadside Assistance. We reimburse you based on the following Refund Matrix. Daily refund will be issued for only the days that a vehicle is broken down due to no fault of your own. Moreover, we will not issued refunds for the whole rental period. Diesel reimbursements will be granted only on Severe cases.

Fuel, Service and Maintenance:
You are required to pay for your fuel. The car hire is to inform the renter the correct quality fuel to be used. Vehicles are handed over with a full tank and are to be returned with a full tank. Please check the tank is full befre leaving the depot on pick up. The renter is liable for damages caused by usage of incorrect quality fuel. During the rental period you are responsible for taking care of normal car maintenance, such as e.g. the engine oil quantity, the radiator and battery fluids, the tire pressures, etc.

Cases of Malfunction, Damage and Theft:
a) You shall immediately inform the depot about malfunctions appearing in the motorhome or about damages to the motorhome as well as about theft. You must also inform the Police immediately about theft. Subsequently the depot shall inform you about the actions to be taken because of the incident. However, without informing the depot you are entitled to have the car repaired for a maximum value of 50 euros, provided it is necessary for continued driving. In such cases the you shall acquire a report from the repair company detailing the performed repair actions and the payment.
b) In traffic accident cases the you are always obliged immediately to submit a damage report to the depot. The report is to be written on the accident report form available in the motorhome. In cases of unclear culpability you shall inform the police. The police are always to be informed in cases of personal injury. The police are always to be informed about deer ccidents by you, who also has to submit to the depot a certificate given by the police and stating the notification.
c) If you neglect the above mentioned notifications, you are liable towards the depot for possible damage caused by this negligence.

Early Returns:
There are no refunds for early returns of the vehicle.

Changes and Cancellation Fees:
- 45 days or more prior to departure: 5%
- 44 days to 30 days prior to departure 30 %
- 29 days to 16 days prior to departure 55 %
- 15 days to 1 day prior to departure 100 %
- Departure day or no-show 100 %

Renewed road traffic and vehicle regulations on children travelling in motorhomes and on temporarily exceeding number of passengers marked on the registration certificate.
1. Temporary excess of passenger count that is marked on registration
certificate.
Together with the amendment of road traffic act mentioned above, also the regulation on vehicle usage on roads was amended (1257/92, 6th chapter section 38). After the amendment, unambiguously the number of seated and standing passengers in a vehicle must not exceed the maximum passenger count marked on the registration certificate. Drivers and passengers must use designated seating and standing places that fulfill the requirements stated in the act.

This law is affecting our Large category. Starting immediately, only 5 passengers can simultaneously travel in these categories even though there are more beds in these vehicle types.
2. Children travelling in a motorhome
According to the road traffic act (267/81) the sections 88 and 88a state that using a safety belt is compulsory in automobiles, vans, lorries and busses and also in three wheel vehicles and quadricycles. The amendment covers the usage of vehicle´s safety belts already installed and does not expand the installation obligation.
This act covers also camping cars (motorhomes) that are usually registered as passenger cars. A child whose height is less than 135 cm has to be in a type approved safety device when travelling if the vehicle has safety belts or a child´s safety device is other vice installable. However, the act does not require to post installation for those vehicles that are accepted to be used without seat belts. If a child´s safety device cannot be installed - meaning that the vehicle does not have seat belts - children aged 3 and over have to be travelling somewhere else than the front seat. However, children under 3 years have to be travelling always in a baby seat, meaning that if a baby seat cannot be installed in to the vehicle, children under 3 years cannot travel in the vehicle.

All children whose height is under 135 cm must be seated in a child seat or a booster seat when travelling in our motorhomes.
